HI THERE,

I’M TRISTAN

Lifestyle photographer. Professional wanderer. Collector of good stories.

I’ve spent most of the last fifteen years photographing festivals, motorsport, travel, and the communities built around them. Along the way I’ve realised my favourite photographs have never really been about the events themselves. They’ve always been about people. These collaborations are a chance to slow things down, meet interesting humans, and create something a little more personal.

WHAT IM BUILDING

Photographs that feel real.

I’m less interested in perfect poses and more interested in personality, atmosphere, movement, and connection. The kind of images that feel like they belong to a moment rather than a studio. Sometimes that’s cinematic, sometimes it’s playful, sometimes it’s quiet. The common thread is that it feels genuine.

HOW IT WORKS:

Simple, relaxed, and collaborative.

We’ll chat about ideas, choose a location, and spend some time creating together. There isn’t a complicated process or a strict shot list. I’ll guide where needed, but the best results usually come from conversation, curiosity, and leaving a little room for spontaneity. Whether you’ve been in front of cameras for years or never done anything like this before, that’s completely fine.

  • Before we meet, we’ll have a quick chat about what we’re aiming to create, the sort of location that feels right, and what you might want to wear. Nothing formal or complicated, just a few messages to get a feel for the direction and make sure we’re both on the same page. If you’ve never done anything like this before, that’s completely fine. Most people I photograph haven’t. The goal is simply to arrive on the day knowing roughly what we’re doing and feeling comfortable about it.

  • The shoot itself is usually much more relaxed than people expect. It’s basically just two people walking around, chatting, and taking photos along the way. You don’t need modelling experience, you don’t need to know how to pose, and you definitely don’t need to perform. I’ll help with positioning, movement, angles, and all the little things that people normally worry about. We work at a natural pace and adapt as we go. The aim isn’t to force anything, it’s to create images that feel genuine and actually look like you.

  • Once we’re finished, I’ll go through all of the images and remove the test shots, duplicates, blinks, and anything that doesn’t quite work. From there, I’ll edit the photographs that best capture the feel of the shoot and deliver a final selection. Everything is edited for colour, tone, and atmosphere in the style you see throughout my portfolio, while still keeping things natural and true to the moment. Most collaborations receive around ten finished images, sometimes a few more depending on the shoot.

  • Turnaround is usually a couple of weeks, although I’ll always keep you updated if that changes. I don’t provide RAW files because they’re unfinished working files and don’t represent the final image. Editing is a big part of how I create my photographs, so the images you receive are the completed versions intended to be seen and shared.

  • You’re welcome to use the images on social media, in a portfolio, or when applying to agencies. If a company, publication, or brand would like to use the photographs commercially, just get in touch first so we can sort permissions properly. You’ll always see the images before anything is shared publicly, so if there’s a photograph you’d rather keep private, that’s absolutely fine. The only thing I ask is that you avoid adding Instagram filters or heavily re-editing the images before posting. A lot of time goes into creating the final look of each photograph, and additional filters can change the colours, mood, and overall feel of the work, meaning they no longer accurately represent my portfolio or style. If there’s something you’d like adjusted, just let me know and I’ll be happy to discuss it.

  • If bringing a friend makes you feel more comfortable, they’re more than welcome to come along. This is a creative collaboration, not an obligation. There’s no cost, no pressure to post anything, and no expectation that you have to be someone you’re not. If something feels uncomfortable, we stop. The whole point is to create something we’re both proud of while having a good time in the process.
