about THE CLIENT
Boomtown Fair is an award-winning immersive festival that welcomes almost 76,000 attendees each year. Rather than centring solely on music, Boomtown combines live performance, theatrical storytelling, large-scale set design and interactive experiences to create a fictional city designed for exploration and escapism. Its ambitious approach has earned industry recognition including Best Festival Production, Best Very Large International Festival and recognition among Europe’s leading festivals. Widely recognised for the scale, creativity and ambition of its production, Boomtown has become one of the UK’s most distinctive live event experiences.
MY contribution
Since joining Boomtown’s official Photography Team in 2015, I’ve returned across five seasons, working within both the Photography and Social Media teams to produce photography, video and fast-turnaround content for Boomtown’s official marketing, website, press, printed materials and social media channels. Working within a large multidisciplinary media team, I balanced changing priorities, same-day delivery and live publishing throughout the festival while documenting everything from headline performances and immersive theatre to volunteers, sustainability initiatives and the atmosphere that brings Boomtown’s world to life.
